چکیده

Background Abnormalities in total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and triglycerides (TG) are associated with microvascular dysfunction and are the primary target for treating atherosclerosis. Newer lipid assays allow for measurements of lipoprotein sub-fractions; however, their impact on microvascular function remain unknown. We sought to determine, in patients with LDL <100mg/dL, if abnormalities in lipid sub-fractionation are associated with reduced myocardial perfusion reserve (MPRi; a surrogate for microvascular dysfunction).

A vasodilator stress MRI perfusion study: large HDL particle number is independently associated with microvascular function in patients with LDL-C <100mg/dL

Background Abnormalities in total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), and triglycerides (TG) are associated with microvascular dysfunction. Recent studies suggest that lipoprotein sub-fractions better predict atherogenic burden than a routine lipid panel. We sought to determine, whether lipid sub-fractionation is associated with myocardial perfus...

Optimal timing of rest perfusion with regadenoson stress testing - normal volunteer study of quantitative MRI perfusion

Methods Seventeen healthy normal volunteers with Framingham score less than 1% underwent vasodilator stress testing with regadenoson using a SSFP sequence. Rest imaging (Rest 1) was performed initially. Twenty minutes later, regadenoson 400mcg was administered as a 10 second injection with saline flush. Stress imaging was done 70 seconds after the injection. All volunteers received aminophyllin...

Regadenoson cardiovascular magnetic resonance myocardial perfusion imaging predicts need for future revascularization

Background Regadenoson (Lexiscan; Astellas) is a new vasodilator myocardial stress agent that selectively activates the A2A receptor. Unlike adenosine, regadenoson is easier to administer and results in fewer side effects. Although extensively studied in patients undergoing nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), its performance in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) MPI remains unknown...

Considerations when measuring myocardial perfusion reserve by cardiovascular magnetic resonance using regadenoson

BACKGROUND Adenosine cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) can accurately quantify myocardial perfusion reserve. While regadenoson is increasingly employed due to ease of use, imaging protocols have not been standardized. We sought to determine the optimal regadenoson CMR protocol for quantifying myocardial perfusion reserve index (MPRi) - more specifically, whether regadenoson stress imaging...

Assessment of global myocardial perfusion reserve using cardiovascular magnetic resonance of coronary sinus flow at 3 Tesla

BACKGROUND Despite increasing clinical use, there is limited data regarding regadenoson in stress perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). In particular, given its long half-life the optimal stress protocol remains unclear. Although Myocardial Perfusion Reserve (MPR) may provide additive prognostic information, current techniques for its measurement are cumbersome and challenging for ...
